I share the doubts of some writers, that Cyrus actually was an Achaemenid. Why did he not say so in his cylinder, if he was one? If he and Darius were of the same family why were there so many revolts (19 according to the Behistun inscription) when Darius came to power. It seemed as if he had to conquer the whole empire again.
